Concertina group based in Maidstone, Kent, UK
Always striving to improve our band time-keeping, we thought it would be a good idea to ask our neighbours, the Old School Samba Band, if they could give us a few tips on rhythms and beats without us having to think about which note to play!
About a dozen Kettle Bridge members attended and we experienced an exhausting session of brain, hand and foot co-ordination exercises. The concentration and physical effort left us sweating on a very hot evening. It was great fun and we certainly picked up some very helpful tips for possible warm-up exercises. All credit to the Samba Band – sustaining a rhythm which is different from the ones going on behind and in front is not easy!
Thank you to the Old School Samba Band for welcoming us, and especially to Dylan for trying to keep us all in time!
