Encouraged by our experiences at the Maidstone Music Festival, Kettle Bridge entered the 2015 Sevenoaks Three Arts Festival competition which featured an Accordions and Concertinas section.

The venue for our class was the Ship Theatre at Walthamstow Hall Senior School in Sevenoaks and this proved to have excellent acoustics. We were up against some stiff opposition, four other bands in total (all accordions) including our old adversaries from Thurrock.

We selected two well-practiced pieces to play, namely Concert Overture and Bristol Harbourside. Kettle Bridge put on an excellent performance and the adjudicator, Romano Viazzani, who has judged us before, commented on an improvement in our rendition.

In a very close contest, we just missed winning by a handful of points but gained a well-deserved Distinction grading. We were all very pleased with this result and are looking forward to the next competition with eagerness.
