Report and photos by Steve.

We were pleased to be invited back to Whitstable Castle's Christmas Fayre for 2019.

Last year, if you remember, it was a very breezy day and our gazebo, which was located just outside Santa's Grotto, was in constant danger of being blown away. Thankfully, this year the wind was not in evidence but it was still a little bit chilly. We were also in a different location, at the other end of the castle, just outside the main entrance to the building. This was just as well, as the local radio station was belting out music at a very high volume in our former spot.

We started playing just before midday and went through our standard repertoire of festive music. This included the normal mix of carols and popular tunes that go down so well with the public. We had a mix of abilities in the band but everyone managed to join in with the majority of the music.

We played for an hour and a half at which time the lunch arrived. This consisted of sausage rolls and tea kindly provided by the organisers.

Suitably refreshed and after a quick consultation, it was agreed that we would not embark on another session due to the continued chilly conditions, so we packed up for the day. This did however give us the opportunity to have a walk round the fayre to see what was on offer.

As always, thanks go to Whitstable Castle for asking for us to appear again this year and for supplying the refreshments. Merry Christmas!
