Despite the cold weather and some rain showers, Kettle Bridge Concertinas completed their programme of busking this Christmas. On Sundays 4th, 11th and 18th December, Kettle Bridge Concertinas could be seen and heard in Fremlin Walk, Maidstone.

We played a variety of carols and Christmas songs. Our favourites were a West Gallery arrangement of ‘Angels from the Realms of Glory’ and also Claire Wren’s arrangement of ‘Deck The Halls’ although we needed MF-D to conduct us on that one.

We know we played best on the 2nd session which very coincidentally was the one when Pat provided us all with some very delicious mulled wine. It obviously helps our playing. It was great too that on this occasion some of the beginners’ group were able to join us. Lorna and Val both made their public debut on 11/12/11. Well done to them both!

On all occasions we were well supported by some of our friends who also ventured out in the cold and the rain and came along to collect. Big thank yous are well deserved by Alan, Peter, Steve, Geoff, Val and Mick for doing this. They were all rewarded with Kettle Bridge Concertina badges! As a result of their efforts we were able to collect £355.00 this year.
