A celebratory Christmas Party had been planned for Sunday 19th December 2010 following the busking planned for that day. However, the very heavy snow meant that both the busking and the celebration had to be deferred.

Therefore, instead Kettle Bridge Concertinas decided to celebrate the New Year with a Christmas lunch in our practice hall at The Victory pub in East Farleigh on Sunday 2nd January 2011.

Most of Kettle Bridge concertinas were able to attend and some husbands also joined us for the occasion. We also invited friends, Val & Pip, because of the great support and help Val had given at the Maidstone Workshop. Twenty of us in all crowded into the small hall at The Victory.

We enjoyed a good meal (the same as we would have had if it had been our Christmas celebration):

Starter: Prawn cocktail; Vegetable soup; Pate
Main: Roast Turkey: Beef Wellington; Mushroom Wellington; Salmon
Dessert: Christmas Pudding; Ice-cream; Strawberry Meringue
Then: Mince pies & chocolates!

Pat provided some musical crackers and we all had great fun trying to play the tunes on the whistles that were in them. We certainly needed MFD to conduct on that occasion.

The gift of a "Vick Tree" (a very small Christmas tree decorated with a tube of Vick inhaler) was presented to the landlords of the pub as a thank you for all their hard work. Then it was time for a chat, some fun and finally some more squeezing (on the concertina that is!) together.

It was great fun and a great way to start the new year.
